Welcome to my website! I am a proud native New Yorker currently living in La-La Land who just happened upon the world of figure competitions* back in the fall of 2007. A chance encounter with a figure show promoter set me on this path which has brought me a new level of understanding about myself and what I am capable of.
I created this site to inspire other 40-something women to reach their fitness goals and embrace their inner diva. Image yourself on a stage with lights and cameras flashing, in a rhinestone-studded bikini, 5-inch heels, full hair and makeup and diamonds drapped around your wrists and dangling from your ears! That's the world of figure competitions and I LOVE IT!!!
Although I have always been i pretty good shape having started dancing at the age of 5 and remaining pretty active most of my life, this new hobby as a figure competitor has taken my body and mind to a new level. I have found the discipline I never knew I had and uncovered a whole new figure.
I sincerely hope you find this site enjoyable, motivating and inspirational. If I can influence just one of you to transform your life and then assist you in doing so through this website, I will consider my goal accomplished.
I will constantly update the site content with new pictures, videos, diet and training tips, super healthy recipes, and current news about this my new "hobby."
I wish each one of you the very best in health, lots of happiness and success in achieving all your fitness and figure goals.
Get Motivated…Get Strong…Get Healthy!
Wishing you all the best,
Tanya
* Figure competitions are mix of bodybuilding and fitness for females. It is perfect for women who want to show their muscle definition in a feminine way (softer look than bodybuilding). Classes are divided by height, and there is usually two Masters classes for women over the age of 35, and over the age of 45. Typically in NPC shows, women are required to do ¼ turns and are judged in both a one piece and a two piece competition suits while wearing high heel shoes. Judges look for overall symmetry, muscle tone, proportion, presentation and the overall package and competitors should have reasonable levels of body fat (this will vary for each woman). The judges are not looking for muscle mass, extreme striations, or the vascularity of a bodybuilder. The sport was developed to appeal to the mainstream audience.
